POL 108: Statistics

Course Description:

This course aims providing foundational exposure to statistics for the social sciences. Students will learn basic concepts including types of data, sampling methods, rules of probability and how to create and interpret tables and graphs. Moreover, students will develop competency in understanding and applying other statistical concepts such as central tendency and variability, probability and distributions, correlations and regression, hypothesis testing, t-tests, analysis of variance, and chi-square tests. Students will be introduced to using specialized software for statistical analysis such as SPSS.
