This course introduces students to the basic principles of microeconomics. Students will understand theories that explain how the markets operate. Students will make sense of the following concepts and themes: free market economy; supply and demand; theory of the firm; market equilibrium and competition. In addition, students will understand the role of government in the economy; taxes; consumer choices; and prices and profits; monopoly; oligopoly and perfect competition. Finally, students will apply these theories in their contexts.
