BA Sharia and Law provides you with a knowledge and understanding of the core textual tradition of Islam and you will have received a solid grounding in the areas of introduction to Islam, reading Qur’anic Arabic, Islamic law and society, reading and translation and introduction to Islam history and culture.

The Sharia and Law Department produces professional Islamic scholars who are well-versed in contemporary international law. These scholars will be prepared to practice law, serve as judges, imams, and Islamic instructors. The faculty hopes to bridge the gap between secular and religious affairs in Muslim societies by integrating Sharia and Law into a single specialization.
