Somalia is blessed with the longest coastline in Africa. However, the nation lacks Marine Science professionals to help protect and profit from these vast waters and coasts.
The Bachelor of Science in Marine Science is a four year program designed to produce graduates with well-rounded subject matter knowledge as well as strong research and technical skills. Students will select one of the following three concentrations:

What is Marine Science? Marine science can be defined as the scientific study of seas, oceans, and coastal habitats. What do Marine Science graduates often do? Holders of a bachelor’s degree in marine science often perform research, laboratory testing, instruction, marine conservation work, fisheries management, or work related to fisheries microbiology and biochemistry, fish population dynamics, fish ecology, or aquatic pollution control. Where do Marine Science graduates often work? Marine scientists may work as marine researchers at government institutions, universities, related industries, non-governmental organizations, or in the private business sector. They may work as marine teachers, fisheries laboratories specialists, or as marine life conservationists in all different sectors.
